Wise Council
Privacy Policy
Effective August 31, 2026
Wise Council is a place for private deliberation about your own life. We take the personal nature of the material members share seriously. This policy explains what information Wise Council collects, why it is used, how it is handled, who processes it on our behalf, and what choices you have. Wise Council is an early-stage service, and this policy describes the product as it exists today.
Information We Collect
Account information
- Your first name and email address.
- Authentication information, including credentials handled through our authentication provider. Passwords are handled by that system and are not stored by us in readable form.
- Your timezone, used for scheduling Council Meetings.
- Account identifiers, and account creation and sign-in records.
Formation and Council content
Wise Council stores the material you intentionally enter into the service so that your Council has continuity across meetings. This may include:
- Formation Meeting responses, transcripts, and retained Formation context.
- Life Charter content and your Annual Direction.
- Objectives, Quarterly Priorities, and Weekly Resolutions.
- Resolution reviews and progress notes, Objective Updates, and Life Events.
- Agenda Items, Council Meeting conversations, Meeting Minutes, and Council Decisions.
- Any other information you choose to provide during use of the service.
Usage and technical information
To operate and troubleshoot the service, our infrastructure processes ordinary technical information such as request and session information, timestamps, browser or device information sent by your browser, application and error logs, and records relevant to security and abuse prevention. We do not operate advertising trackers, and we do not build advertising profiles from your Council content.
AI Processing
Wise Council uses artificial intelligence to provide Council functionality. Council members are AI-generated roles, not human advisers. To produce Council responses and governance records, relevant member-provided information is transmitted to an AI model service for processing.
AI processing is used to:
- Conduct Formation Meetings.
- Generate and discuss your Life Charter.
- Generate and discuss Objectives and Quarterly Priorities.
- Conduct Council Meetings and review prior commitments.
- Identify relevant patterns in your own governance history.
- Produce Council responses, Minutes, Decisions, and related records.
So that the Council can remember prior decisions and commitments, Wise Council supplies the AI system with relevant context drawn from your Wise Council record. Wise Council attempts to provide the context necessary for the requested function; not all stored information is sent with every request.
AI processing is currently performed through the Lovable AI Gateway using an OpenAI GPT model. Model providers may change as the service develops. We do not publish system prompts or implementation details.
Google Calendar
Connecting Google Calendar is entirely optional. Wise Council can be used without it, and all governance functionality works whether or not a calendar is connected.
If you choose to connect a calendar, Wise Council requests these Google scopes:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events.ownedhttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.calendarlist.readonly
The first permits Wise Council to create, update, and delete the Wise Council meeting events it owns on calendars you own. The second permits Wise Council to list your calendars so you can choose which one to use.
- Google Calendar access is used only to support the calendar functionality you request.
- Wise Council does not use Google Calendar information for advertising.
- Wise Council does not read the contents of your unrelated personal calendar events; the implementation only reads your calendar list and the events it created itself.
- Google Calendar data is not used to train the Council AI.
- Calendar event content is intentionally minimal — it identifies a Council Meeting and its time, and does not include Charter, Objective, Priority, Resolution, agenda, Formation, or Council conversation content.
- In the current version, Wise Council remains the source of truth for Council Meeting scheduling. Changes made in Google Calendar are not synced back into Wise Council.
- You may disconnect Google Calendar at any time in Wise Council settings. Disconnecting does not delete your Wise Council governance records.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Wise Council's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google does not endorse or sponsor Wise Council.
Google Credentials
Authorization takes place directly with Google. The resulting access and refresh credentials are exchanged and handled on our servers. Stored refresh credentials are encrypted using the application's secure token-storage mechanism, are not intended to be reachable through ordinary client-side application queries, and are not intentionally included in Council AI prompts. We do not publish encryption keys, client secrets, or token values. No system is immune from every risk, and we do not claim that stored credentials can never be accessed.
How We Use Information
- To provide and operate Wise Council.
- To authenticate members and secure accounts.
- To preserve your governance record and maintain continuity between meetings.
- To personalize Council conversations based on your own history.
- To generate and revise Charters, Objectives, Priorities, and Resolutions.
- To conduct Council Meetings and produce Minutes and Decisions.
- To schedule meetings in your saved timezone, and to sync Council Meetings to Google Calendar when you have authorized it.
- To troubleshoot errors and improve reliability and product experience.
- To protect the security of the service and prevent misuse.
We do not use your personal Council content for advertising. Wise Council does not sell personal information.
Service Providers
Wise Council relies on third-party technology providers to operate, and those providers may process information as necessary to perform their services for us. Providers verifiably used in the current implementation are:
- Lovable — application hosting, build and deployment infrastructure, and the AI gateway used for Council processing.
- Supabase — the managed database, authentication, and backend platform underlying Lovable Cloud, where account and governance records are stored.
- OpenAI — the AI model provider reached through the AI gateway for Council responses and governance drafting.
- Google — only if you choose to connect Google Calendar, for the calendar functionality described above.
Not every provider has access to every category of information. Google receives only what is necessary for calendar events; the AI model provider receives the context supplied for a requested Council function.
When Information May Be Disclosed
- To the service providers described above, as needed to operate Wise Council.
- When required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
- To investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, or threats to security.
- In connection with a future business restructuring, acquisition, or transfer of assets, where the receiving party remains bound by protections consistent with this policy.
- At your direction or with your consent.
We do not sell members' private Council conversations to advertisers.
Data Retention
Wise Council retains account and governance information for as long as needed to provide continuity of your Council record — including meeting history, Charters, Objectives, Priorities, Resolutions, Decisions, and Minutes — to operate your account, and to comply with applicable obligations. Retention periods vary by data type. Adopted governance records are designed to be durable and are intentionally preserved as historical records. Technical logs are retained for shorter operational periods determined by our infrastructure providers.
Your Choices
- You can update your profile information, including name and timezone, in Wise Council settings.
- You can disconnect Google Calendar in Wise Council settings, which withdraws future calendar access. You may also revoke access from your Google Account security settings.
- You can request information about the personal information we store about you.
- You can request deletion of your account or personal information, subject to legal and operational limitations. Deletion currently requires contacting us — there is no self-service account deletion control in the product today.
- You can contact us with any privacy question.
Requests may be sent to ryan@wisecouncil.ai.
Security
Wise Council uses technical and organizational measures intended to protect member information. These include authenticated member access, member-scoped row-level database controls so that a member's records are readable only by that member, server-side handling of sensitive integration credentials, encrypted storage of Calendar refresh credentials, and restricted database access for privileged operations. Traffic to the service is encrypted in transit.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We do not claim any audit, certification, or compliance attestation, and we do not claim end-to-end encryption of member content.
Private and Sensitive Material
Members often discuss deeply personal matters with their Council — relationships, family, work, money, health, aspirations, habits, and consequential personal decisions. This material is stored so the Council can maintain continuity. Please use your own judgment about what you choose to provide, and consider omitting details you would prefer not to have stored or processed by an AI service. Wise Council is not a therapist, physician, financial adviser, lawyer, or fiduciary.
Children
Wise Council is intended for adults. The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Wise Council, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
International Users
Wise Council may be operated from the United States, and information may be processed and stored in the United States or in other jurisdictions where Wise Council or its service providers operate. If you use the service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may change as the service develops. Material updates will be reflected by revising the effective date above and, when appropriate, by providing additional notice.
