Terms of Service

By accessing or using Wise Council, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Wise Council is an AI-assisted reflection, planning, and personal governance service designed to help members clarify priorities, examine decisions, establish objectives, make commitments, and review progress over time.

It uses fictional Council roles — the Chair, the Steward, the Investor, the Operator, and the Challenger. These are AI-generated archetypes, not real human advisers. No human professional reviews your Council interactions as part of the service.

Wise Council provides informational, reflective, organizational, and decision-support content. It is not a substitute for qualified professional advice.

Wise Council does not provide professional:

• medical advice
• mental health treatment or psychotherapy
• legal advice
• tax advice
• financial planning or investment advice
• fiduciary services

You remain responsible for obtaining qualified professional advice when your circumstances call for it.

• You remain responsible for your own decisions and actions.
• You should independently evaluate any Council suggestion before acting on it.
• You should not rely on AI output as guaranteed accurate or complete.
• You are responsible for reviewing commitments before adopting them as Resolutions, Objectives, or Charter content.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• You are responsible for the information you choose to submit to the service.

AI-generated content may:

• contain errors or inaccuracies
• misunderstand context or intent
• produce incomplete or inappropriate suggestions
• fail to reflect the latest external information

You should evaluate Council output with your own judgment. Wise Council does not guarantee any particular outcome from following Council recommendations.

• Keep your login credentials confidential.
• Provide accurate registration information.
• Do not misuse your account or allow others to use it improperly.
• Report suspected unauthorized use to us promptly at ryan@wisecouncil.ai.

Please do not:

• use Wise Council for unlawful purposes
• attempt to access another member's account or data
• attack, overload, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
• reverse engineer the service, to the extent such restriction is legally permitted
• use malicious automation, scraping, or credential theft
• abuse connected integrations, including the Google Calendar integration
• submit content you do not have the right to use

The Google Calendar integration is optional and depends on Google's APIs and services. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of third-party services, and calendar sync may be delayed or fail without affecting your Wise Council records. You may disconnect the integration at any time in settings. Your use of Google services is also subject to Google's applicable terms and policies.

Wise Council's software, branding, visual design, Council archetypes, written product materials, and other proprietary content are owned by Wise Council or its licensors, as applicable.

You retain the rights you have in the information and content you submit. Wise Council does not claim ownership of your Formation responses, Charter content, Objectives, Resolutions, or other information you create, merely because it is stored in the service. You grant Wise Council the limited rights necessary to store, process, and transmit your submitted information in order to provide the service to you.

If you send us suggestions or product feedback, we may use it to improve Wise Council without obligation or compensation to you. This applies only to feedback you deliberately send us — not to your private Council content, which remains yours and is not treated as feedback.

Wise Council is under active development. Functionality may change, be added, be removed, or temporarily become unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted operation.

You may stop using Wise Council at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where there is a serious violation of these Terms, misuse of the service, a security risk, or a legal requirement to do so. Requests to delete your account or data may be sent to ryan@wisecouncil.ai.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Wise Council will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities, arising out of or relating to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

To the extent legally appropriate, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, except where the law of your place of residence requires otherwise.
